The sword of the Spirit and the word of God

“Take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God…” This is God’s admonition for us in Ephesians. But how many of us have separated the spirit from the word? We’re content to quote scripture and apply it to our daily lives, but many times we’ve lost or ignored the life-giving breath that accompanies the word and gives it it’s power.
If it’s not God-breathed, then it’s not living and active… and it’s not going to change the lives of the people you’re ministering to.
