Excerpt from “About Me”… which one of my kids added Pencil Island to the map??
Gaining a Global Worldview: My husband, Alan, and I have had a heart for the nations ever since 1982 when God spoke to us in a little country church in Minco, Oklahoma. Since then, we’ve done what we could to be involved in seeing the nations worship God.
What that means in real life is we’ve drug our four kids (little then!) around Mexico for a few years, sent Alan off to Russia, Benin and Honduras, helped write our church’s mission policy and did what we could to support missionaries we knew (many of whom are our dear friends), and made wonderful international friends. (oh yeah - this includes making our kids eat breakfast with a world map looming before them at the breakfast bar every morning… which reminds me - which one of you added that island in the Atlantic??)
Actually it was the nations that led us to where we’re at right now - World Revival Church in Kansas City. We moved to be a part of this church-in-revival over nine years ago so that we could be mentored and grow and bring something relevant and powerful to the nations. We’ve taught a few classes in the World Revival School of Ministry, one of which is called Cross-Cultural Ministry.
My hope with this blog is to break the mold of what people see as “mission work” and REVIVE minds to what God is doing in the earth today and what our participation should be in that. Hopefully what I share will help those of you who are considering cross-cultural ministry - or are already out there doing it. -Laura Woodworth Click on “About Me” at the top of the website for more.
